Golf in Cumbria
Playing golf in Cumbria is a rewarding experience. The views from the courses are generally stunning, so if the golf isn't up to scratch, you can at least enjoy the walk!! Mind you, one is generally inspired, by such views, to even greater heights!
Within twenty minutes of Temple Sowerby House, there are three excellent golf courses - Appleby-in-Westmorland, Penrith (both 15 minutes) and Keswick (20 minutes) - all of which enjoy the aforementioned splendid views.
Further afield, the championship golf course at Silloth, on the Solway Firth, offers a true links challenge with a stiff, awkward wind virtually guaranteed!
Being a member of Appleby Golf Club myself, I can vouch for its fine greens, some of the best I've played on, and I'm always looking for an excuse to escape for a round if you're on your own.
I would be delighted to arrange the golf for you, whether you want a two-ball or a number of tee times for a group.
Non-golfing partners have the beautiful Eden Valley and Northern Lake District to explore whilst you are concentrating on the more important things in life!
