Temple Sowerby House Hotel is superbly located in the heart of a region of unsurpassed beauty and interest.
The Lake District is easily accessible, with Ullswater being just a 15 minute drive away.
Ullswater, I believe, is the finest in the Lake District and is surrounded by dramatic mountains and waterfalls.
The Eden Valley itself is a good region to explore, the backdrop of the northern Pennines framing a lush valley of interesting villages and quaint market towns, such as Appleby, Penrith and Alston.
The Yorkshire Dales can be explored, too, and the lovely town of Hawes is around a 45 minute drive away through beautiful scenery.
