Rekindle the Romance by saying ‘I do’

More and more couples are choosing to renew their wedding vows as a way of showing their continued commitment to each other in the presence of their family and friends.

Renewing your wedding vows is a very special way of celebrating your time together and re-emphasising the vows you made to each other in your original wedding ceremony. The occasion is often linked with a special anniversary or as a way of reaffirming your commitment to each other at any stage during your marriage.

This unique and personal ceremony is available to any married couple of any age and who have been married for any length of time and, you do not need to live in the area where you would like to hold your ceremony.

The content of the ceremony is designed by you to allow you to include elements which are particularly appropriate and have meaning for you both.

Special people in your lives can take part in your ceremony such as your children, guests who attended your first wedding and any friends and relatives.  You will also need to ask two people to witness the signing of the Certificate of the event.

A `Celebrant` will conduct your ceremony but they will not be acting in any official capacity, even if they also work as a registrar.

The ceremony lasts approximately 15 minutes and can contain some or all of the following elements:

An introduction and welcome, acknowledgment of any children of the marriage, one or more readings, renewal of the vows, rededication of rings or the giving of new rings, the signing of the souvenir certificate by the couple and two witnesses followed by a closing statement.
