Bedrooms at Temple Sowerby House

With just 12 individually styled bedrooms, Temple Sowerby House is large enough to be professionally run, yet small enough to offer a friendly welcome and personal hospitality.

It’s a charming house with no two rooms the same, as you would expect in a house of this character. Each room has its own appeal and features, from cosy beamed rooms to high Georgian ceilings. The rooms are various in size, but all offer the same comforts.

Luxury Egyptian cotton linen is used in all the bedrooms, which have newly fitted, contemporary bathrooms with luxury Molton Brown toiletries and big, fluffy bath sheets.  Other amenities include secure WiFi connection, colour television, hot beverage tray, mineral water, radio, telephone and hairdryer.

There are no family rooms.

There are two categories of bedrooms for you to choose from:

Superior Double and Twin Bedrooms

These spacious rooms include three high ceilinged, elegant 19th century Georgian rooms at the front of the house, overlooking the peaceful village green and fells beyond, a spacious beamed room in the Coach House plus two more character rooms in the house.

They all have newly designed, contemporary bathrooms, some with aqua-spa baths, others feature walk-in showers with hydro-therapy body jets and cloud-burst overhead. 

Bath robes are provided

Classic Double and Twin Bedrooms

These are individually decorated cosy rooms, some featuring original 18th century oak beams and are located in both the house and Coach House.  They all have recently fitted, well designed, modern bathrooms.

There are two ground-floor rooms, one twin and one double, situated in the Coach House just a few steps across the courtyard from the House. For ease of access, car parking is available adjacent to the Coach House

Special Treats

To make your stay extra special, we can arrange a bottle of champagne on ice to be in your room on your arrival, or a hand-tied bunch of fresh flowers or even a delicious box of locally made chocolates

Dogs

Arrangements can be made for your dog to stay with you overnight in some of our Coach House rooms with prior notice

Our primary concern is that all our guests have a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable stay with us whilst exploring the superb natural landscapes that surround us.

However, we recognise the need to manage the environmental impact of our activities, products and services and wish to promote good practise and therefore an Environmental Policy is in place and reviewed regularly.
